Description
Akaal Pet Hospital is growing and looking for a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician looking to help grow a team. We are expanding from a 1 to 2 doctor practice and need an RVT ready to work at the highest level of their training and license. This role will include the opportunity to lead the medical support team in day-to-day operations. Bilingual speakers (Spanish or Russian) are encouraged to apply!- Salary: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
- Schedule: Full-time, Five 8-hour shifts per week. Currently Mon-Friday, adding Saturday hours in September. Closed Sunday and Major Holidays.

Who You Are:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
- 5 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required
- Experience in a Lead or Supervisor role is preferred
- Ability to supervise and mentor other medical professionals
- Comfortable with inventory management and supply ordering
- Assist with hiring, training, and coaching veterinary assistants
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Dental Experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
- Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
- Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
- Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- And all other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
