- Urgent Care Veterinarian
Description
Companion animal urgent care practice looking to hire a full-time associate veterinarian. Silver Birch Veterinary Urgent Care was founded by two veterinarians and a licensed veterinary technician, who wanted to create a better working environment for veterinary professionals. Located in what is known as “The North Country” in Northern New York. We are located about 30 minutes from the beautiful Adirondacks, within 2 hours of Lake Placid, NY, Ottawa, Canada and Montreal, Canada.
We are looking for an individual who strives to practice quality medicine, but we do not believe practicing quality medicine should take over your entire life. We believe a working environment should be fun and that all of our employees should feel supported in what can be a stressful and emotionally draining profession. We place a high value on family time and time off to reset.
Offering a 4 day work week, working 9 hours per day. No weekend or after hours on-call shifts. New graduates are welcome to apply. We aim to provide quality mentorship tailored to the individual’s confidence level and learning style. Our practice is new and growing. We encourage professional development in specialized areas of interest and are excited to make plans for new equipment or training that will give our doctors the skills and confidence to provide medicine they feel good about.
Full Time Benefits include health/vision/dental insurance, 401k, and CE allowance. 16 days PTO with 5 days of sick leave
Part time: 18 hours per week. Ideally yes two 9 hour days, but there is flexibility in scheduling. Salary $70,000-85,000.
Salary is open to negotiation.
Our team is ready to welcome the right individual into our practice. We know moving to a small town in northern New York may seem daunting. That is why we plan group activities to explore the area. These are in no way related to the business. They are just optional outings that allow our employees to have fun together outside of work and try new things. Examples include paint nights, downhill skiing and tubing, hiking, kayaking, book club and more!
Requirements
DVM or equivalent, ability to obtain a veterinary license in the state of New York, and an interest in working with a great team of licensed veterinary technicians
