Description
If you are looking for your next career opportunity, look no further! The team at Sequist Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join the team. We understand that sometimes it is hard to step into a new career opportunity, but we are here to help you do that! Sequist Animal Hospital is a team that values a positive work environment, providing caring support for patients, clients, and team members, and is passionate about rooted connections. The role of a Veterinary Assistant is a great starting place for someone looking to enter into the veterinary field and become a veterinary technician.We are open Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with team members having a four-day work week. This means no weekends or late-night shifts! Why? Because we truly value a work life balance. While the work we provide is incredibly important and valuable, so are you.
Pay Range: $16.00-$21.00. Pay rate is based off from experience and certifications. This varies depending on experience.
Core Responsibilities / Skills
- Assisting Veterinarians and technicians during examinations and surgical procedures
- Understanding of medical terminology and products
- Safe and fear free animal restraint/handling
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Running lab diagnostics
- Assisting in radiology
- Appropriate sterilization of hospital and equipment
- Provide education for clients through effective communication
- Machine maintenance
- Appropriate record keeping
- Ideal candidate will work towards skills of a veterinary technician, including surgical / anesthesia monitoring.
