Description
Veterinary TechnicianAnimal Medical Care is seeking a dedicated, experienced veterinary technician to work alongside the current team, providing the highest level of veterinary medicine along with friendly, compassionate service. We believe in treating every patient as if they were our own pet, and giving them the same loving attention and care. We are a group of highly trained, experienced animal lovers who are looking forward to adding a new team member with the same goals and values in the animal industry. We are looking for an experienced technician who is confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork, experienced in properly handling and restraining animals, knowledge of x-ray and positioning, understands the importance of client education, able to confidently dispense and administer medication prescribed by the veterinarian, and is a positive and supportive team member. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and we encourage our staff to do the same. Requirements:
- 2+ years of prior veterinary experience
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Currently use Idexx in-house lab equipment
- Utilize Cornerstone software
- Confidently and comfortably restrain animals
- Knowledge of surgical prep, monitoring, and recovery
- Compassionate and caring toward our clients and their pets
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
- Multi-task efficiently
- Must be able to work rotating Saturdays
- Understand the importance of client education
- Be a positive and supportive team member
AAHA Certified
Qualifications
- Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
- Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred - or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
- Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
- Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
