Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Hoffman Estates is looking for a Veterinary Technician Manager to help lead our Specialty Departments!!
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team as a Technician Manager for our specialty departments. The Technician Manager will serve as a cornerstone in cultivating a supportive and collaborative culture within our veterinary practice while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client service are consistently met. This position requires a strong blend of leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a passion for nurturing a positive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivating a Positive Culture:
- Lead by example, demonstrating empathy, integrity, and a commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Encourage teamwork, mutual respect, and professional growth among all team members, promoting a culture of inclusivity and support.
- Create opportunities for staff recognition, team-building activities, and continuing education to enhance morale and job satisfaction.
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the veterinary technical staff within the specialty departments, fostering a culture of trust and empowerment.
- Conduct regular department meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions to facilitate open communication, address challenges, and celebrate successes.
- Empower team members to take ownership of their roles and contribute innovative ideas to improve patient care and workflow efficiency.
- Patient Care and Clinical Excellence:
- Oversee the delivery of exceptional patient care within the specialty departments, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards of care.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to optimize patient outcomes, facilitate case management, and maintain a compassionate and nurturing environment for animals under our care.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and specialty-specific best practices to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.
- Operational Excellence:
- Coordinate daily workflow within the specialty departments to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain specialty department staff schedules to allow for best patient/client care
- Optimize patient scheduling standards, follow up procedures, and client communications for each department
- Collaborate with other hospital leaders to implement and uphold standard operating procedures, protocols, and quality assurance measures.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff feedback and participation in identifying opportunities for operational enhancements.
- Work with leadership to ensure proper usage of Cubex and controlled substances, including cycle counts and staff training
Qualifications:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of veterinary or relevant leadership experience required; Specialty experience required.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care, client service, and professional ethics.
- Passion for promoting a positive work culture and nurturing a supportive environment for staff members to thrive.
