We are a group of highly trained, experienced animal lovers who are devoted to giving our patients the best care possible. We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and service-oriented Veterinary Assistant who is confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork, has experience with x-ray and proper positioning, understands the importance of client education, and is a supportive and positive team player, works well with the veterinarians and other team members. Okatie Veterinary Center strives to support its team members to continue to develop their skills and knowledge while trying to find the balance of enjoying life. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and we encourage our staff to do the same. Okatie (pronounced "OH-kuh-tee") is a suburban community west of Hilton Head Island, located in Beaufort and Jasper counties, in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Okatie takes its name from the nearby Okatee River, an estuary of the Port Royal Sound.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of veterinary experience preferred
• Working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Positive and supportive team member
