The Animal Medical Center in New York, NY has a full-time staff position available immediately in Avian and Exotic Pet Medicine and Surgery. This is a clinical position that includes managing a daily clinical caseload of 6-13 animals of outpatients and inpatients, overseeing a specialty intern in avian and exotic pet medicine, participating in teaching rounds, and participating in education of general small animal rotating interns. The work schedule is a 4-day work week with no emergency coverage.
The approximate caseload is 1600/cases/per year, consisting of small mammals, birds, reptiles, and occasional miniature pigs and primates and works in very close coordination with the support of other AMC Services, including Radiology, Surgery, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Neurology, Dermatology, Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine, Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy, and Internal Medicine.
