Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology (AVIM&O) www.AVIM.us is seeking a veterinarian who is certified in the Specialty of Internal Medicine or who has successfully completed the ACVIM general examination and is preparing credentials for the certifying examination. This is a full-time position opening. This position starts in late summer or fall of 2018 in a new expansion of our Annapolis hospital. AVIM&O has been in Annapolis, providing 25 years of excellent care. Annapolis complements our teams in Towson and Columbia, Maryland. Come work with an experienced group of great associates. Your joining AVIM&O in Annapolis would have you become a part of a team of five internists and two oncologists. Together with our Towson and Columbia locations, we will have eleven internists and soon to be four oncologists. AVIM&O works alongside the specialty groups within Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Centers (www.CVRC.com).
Annapolis and adjacent communities have the advantages of easy access to the Chesapeake Bay, Blue Ridge mountains, urban, rural to suburban geography, regional and local cultural centers, along with reasonably close venues of major sports franchises and college athletics. Both are less than an hour from the many additional exciting activities in Baltimore, Annapolis and Washington.
Our applicants need to be competent, caring, and compassionate and play well with others. Areas of interest or special emphasis can be developed. Duties will include referral level appointments, case consultations, positive professional interactions, and diagnostic & therapeutic procedures related to all aspects of internal medicine and our collegial interactions
The AVIM&O procedures area is separate from the facility=s large common treatment area. AVIM&O equipment includes Olympus videoendoscopes, rigid scopes, advanced Phillips Epiq5 ultrasound, GE Logic ultrasound, EPOC point of care analyzer with blood gas and ionized calcium, five way anesthetic monitor systems, pulse-doppler blood pressure, digital radiography, among other in-hospital lab systems, monitoring equipment, numerous infusion pumps and appropriate treatment facilities. HBOT will be introduced with our new facilities. We also have stenting and laser interventional capabilities at our Columbia location. MRI and 16 slice CT are planned along with Varian (stereotactic and linear) radiation therapy will be available via our associated specialty groups.
