Our Veterinary Externship Program provides veterinary students the opportunity to learn and enhance practical skills in a high-quality family care clinical setting. This fast-paced, fun environment offers the opportunity for you to use state of the art and digital medical equipment, while helping to facilitate the health and well-being of pets throughout the day. This well-rounded program gives you the opportunity to interact with our patient care team and clients, as well as focus on your desired educational objectives. Veterinary externs focus on wellness and general medicine cases from the perspective of a board certified practicing veterinary specialist, while growing accustomed to dentistry, sterile surgical procedures and complete patient and client care. Candidates can have focused adventures in canine and feline, feline only, exotic animal only practice. Our externship offers a flexible schedule and allows you to experience a diverse caseload. ***Applicants must be a third or fourth veterinary student to qualify. Shared housing is provided. Paid externships are available for those interested in a four week or more experience.
Candidates must have started their third or fourth year of veterinary medical school. Applicants must be able to integrate with a team and have appropriate professional dress and demeanor. A recommendation from a professor and one other reference is preferred.
