The Animal Care Center is a small and exotic animal veterinary clinic located in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, on the edge of Granite City, Illinois. We practice high quality general medicine and surgery with an emphasis on prevention. We realize that some clients may have financial concerns, so we tailor treatment to the best of our ability while offering payment plans through Care Credit. We are fortunate to have several referral practices in the metropolitan area to collaborate with on difficult internal medicine and surgical cases, including a traveling radiologist and surgeon.
Weare a family-oriented practice that believes in the importance of quality of life within our walls, as well as outside. After hours emergency and critical cases are referred to one of the local emergency clinics in the area, and veterinarians are not expected to be on call. We feel compelled to give back to our community by participating in job shadow programs and technical externships, as well as school guest speaker series. We are the proud veterinary care provider for two local rescue groups (Four Paws Sake and Pound Pets, Inc.) and our local animal control.
We are a 2 doctor practice seeking a full or part time associate veterinarian. New or recent grads are welcome, as well as experienced applicants. Mentorship will be provided, as needed. An interest in exotic animal medicine is not required, but the opportunity to learn is available. Special interests are supported and encouraged. Compensation is dependent on experience. Benefits include a $1000 signing bonus, Safe Harbor 401K with profit sharing, state and national dues, CE stipend, liability insurance, 2 weeks paid vacation, 1 week paid CE, and 5 sick days. Full-time work schedule includes 4 week days and a half day every other Saturday. There are no after hours emergencies, as we utilize multiple ER clinics in the area. Some of our "perks" include digital radiography, ultrasound, tonopen (I Schiotz you not!), in house IDEXX laboratory, close referral practices, and a traveling surgeon. We like to have fun while practicing high quality medicine. When you join our team, you join our family!
Applicant should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work closely with and the knowledge of how to utilize technical staff members, confidence in his/her general medicine and soft tissue surgical skills, and the will to have fun while helping clients and patients.
