Madison Veterinary Specialists is seeking full and part time Certified Veterinary Technicians to join our Overnight Emergency team! This position includes overnights, weekends, two holidays per year, and an on call rotation.
The Certified Veterinary Technician provides caring, compassionate and detail-oriented nursing care for hospitalized patients and outpatients. They are responsible for correctly and efficiently executing treatments, diagnostics, and medication administration at the appropriate times under the direction of a Veterinarian. They must maintain detailed and correct medical records in the MVS electronic medical record keeping system, Infinity, while ensuring all charges are correctly invoiced, along with updating and communicating with clients in a timely and respective manner. This person must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, use multiple radiology imaging techniques, plus administer and monitor animals under anesthesia.

Provide input and assist with all aspects of patient care
Excel in technical nursing skills including, but not limited to: Venipunture, Catheter placement, etc.
Ability to obtain accurate radiology images
Effective anesthesia monitoring
Physical examinations and patient assessment
Good laboratory skill set including, but not limited to: Manual differentials, UA, etc.
Possess or demonstrate desire to obtains a solid understanding on the common medications used within an emergency and specialty practice.
Provide compassionate and timely care for our hospitalized patients.
Current state licensure as a Certified/Registered/Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Prior experience in an emergency and/or specialty practice is a plus.
1+ years' experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant is preferred.
Knowledge of ImproMed software is a plus.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Formal Veterinary Technology education preferred
