Our Credentialed Technicians are not utilized as Veterinary Assistants or Receptionists. Our Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists are not allowed to give injections, complete blood draws/IV catheter placement, assist with anesthesia or surgery, complete dental prophylaxis, among other procedures. At BRAC, we feel that these are all procedures that should be completed by credentialed individuals only. You worked hard for your credentials and we want you to utilize your skills and knowledge!
What is a typical weekly work schedule?
All of our credentialed technicians work a 3-4 day work week comprised of 10-12 hour work shifts. We do not have a set work schedule, but instead offer flex scheduling. This allows our team to schedule personal medical appointments, attend children's school/sporting events, or even attend a weekly book club without needing to utilize all of their Paid Time Off (PTO) for these events.
What are we looking for in a Credentialed Technician candidate?
The right candidate is someone that can work in a fast paced, busy environment with a positive attitude. You’ve worked hard for your credentialing and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. Our RVT’s are utilized in surgery, radiology, in-patient and outpatient care, pharmacy management and more! We are looking for someone that can work well with others and is responsive when given direct tasks, while just as efficient when working alone.
Skills and Qualifications:
Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures and terminology.
Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain dogs and cats using low stress restraint and handling techniques
Ability to perform veterinary medical procedures (i.e. venipuncture, radiology, IV catheter placement, drug calculations, administration of medications & fluids, and assess & triage patients).
Have basic organizational and computer skills
