At Gallardo Family Animal Hospital pets aren't just patients- they're family! We are a small, growing, and well-known community hospital who focuses on client-first service. This in turn allows us to provide the best veterinary care possible. Our mission is to care for our patients as we would our own. We are passionate about animal welfare and work closely with a local rescue, providing care to thousands of rescue pets each year. Our patients include small mammals, reptiles, avians, amphibians, as well as other species. We do not currently treat farm animals, but, aside from that our doors are open!
GFAH is a family owned-and-operated practice. We opened early in 2016 and quickly earned the trust of the community by providing the care to pets (and people) that we extend our own pets and families. We have been rated one of the Top 20 Veterinarians in Cincinnati each year since opening by expertise.com. We give back to the community by donating thousands of dollars of services and veterinary care to a local rescue, Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue. Every member of GFAH is passionate about improving the quality of life of pets, and the candidate we are seeking is as well. We are a client-first practice and develop lifelong relationships with our clients. We are located in Milford, OH, a suburb of Cincinnati.
We treat small animals and exotic pets as well as work with wildlife. Small animal DVMs who do not wish to work with or learn to work with exotic or wildlife animals are still encouraged to apply. We are primarily seeking a small animal DVM. There is opportunity for exotic/wildlife work for those who would like it.
We are a high-volume surgery hospital. As we are a new and developing clinic our equipment is new and we are adding new equipment as we grow. We utilize a cloud-based veterinary software and are paper-lite.
This position is for the DVM who is seeking a high quality of life. GFAH is a large supporter of the NOMV (Not One More Vet) movement and we are not looking to bind someone into a late-night, demanding, overbearing work schedule. We are looking to add a DVM to our team that fits the needs of our client-first practice who will enjoy working a schedule that fits their lifestyle. We are happy to offer a flexible schedule that works with our chosen candidate. Working more or less days than the proposed schedule is absolutely possible. We have everything from 1 to 5 day schedules.
4 and 5 day schedules are considered FT and are paid ProSal (guaranteed base + 22% commission above base, if exceeded). DVMs who work 1-3 days per week are considered PT and paid hourly. We are open to salary and schedule negotiations. Flexibility is truly the key word here.
We offer competitive pay, bonus programs, employee discounts, family pet discounts, continuing education allowance ($5k for FT and $2k for PT annually), schedule flexibility and more. We value the input and ideas of our staff and are utilizing their feedback to better develop our company. Plus, our staff enjoys company provided lunch weekly or more (food=love, right?...just kidding, couldn't help it!)
We encourage candidates to check us out online, give us a google search, and read what people are saying about us. Does GFAH sound like a work-family that you'd like to be a part of? If so, apply! We are happy to meet as many candidates as possible as well as "wait out" the right fit. We offer a trial employment period as well as "at-will" employment and an open door policy, as staff happiness is one of our biggest concerns.
The ideal candidate will be:
Friendly and helpful
Amiable and comfortable talking to clients
A team player
Interested in rescue work
Interested in life-long learning
Excellent communication skills
