Company History
The story of CVETS began in 2018, fueled by the vision and dedication of Dr. Michael and Dr. Tracy Schlicksup. Transplanting their passion for exceptional veterinary medicine from Charleston, SC, they established CVETS in Columbia, SC with an initial footprint of 9,000 square feet. What started as a commitment to providing high-quality care quickly resonated with the community.
Driven by a deep understanding of the needs of both pets and their owners, CVETS experienced remarkable growth. The demand for our compassionate and comprehensive approach to veterinary medicine soared, necessitating a significant expansion. In 2023, we proudly completed a state-of-the-art 27,000 square foot facility. This expansion reflects our unwavering commitment to providing cutting-edge care and has allowed us to enhance our capabilities significantly.
Today, CVETS boasts five fully equipped operating rooms, including a technologically advanced SMART O.R., a dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for our most critical patients, and advanced in-house diagnostic imaging with both MRI and CT scanners. Our expanded space also features dedicated, comfortable suites for each of our growing specialty services.
Our journey from a modest 9,000 square foot hospital to a leading regional referral center is a testament to the hard work, expertise, and collaborative spirit of our team. We are proud of our history and excited about the future as we continue to advance veterinary medical care and provide an inspiring and professional environment for our dedicated team. Join us and be a part of the CVETS success story!
